Im a lil slow............

So since Hannah's arrival I have been drinking far too much and not blogging enough!

After our hectic night on Thurs we went to see the Smeilinener show- which was really really good!! I was very impressed- LOVED their use of colours, texture, fabrics, embellishment- everything basically, unfortunately my camera died on me so I couldn't take any pics but I found the video- so even better!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvfBbNqMytk

They are quite lairey, not everybodies taste, but I was really feeling it- especially the high waisted pink trousers with the flamingo on the back!

We were meant to go to the Michael Sontag, Star styling and Penkov shows but they didnt fit into our sleep pattern- basically they were wayyyyyyy to early! So heres the vids-

Theres some really interesting pattern cutting in Michael Sontags collection and some really strong silhouettes- loving the oversized yellow jacket with the zip!

Really liking the Penkov stuff aswell- I have seen ALOT of neutral colour palettes this week, and I am more into colour but they had some beautiful detailing in this collection.

Kinda kicking myself for being such a dirty stop out and not getting up to go to these shows! Waste!

The star styling collection is INSANE-

-all a bit too space caddet for me, it kinda looks to me like what a kid would make if you told them to make a jedi knight costume, very arts and crafts- dont get me wrong I do like crazy conceptual shit and we do need it in the fashion world, even if its pretty unwearable for the average Jane or Joe, and there are def some real interesting details goin on and some cool fabrics but I just cant see it on road- they dudes face in the crown style thing says it all really!
I just dont think they quite pulled it off.

So apart from getting drunk Ive also been losing my camera- WAHHHHHH!!! So until I go and buy a new one (tomorrow i think) I dont have any pics but these few that I took before it all went wrong-

I loved this dudes shirt!

Nice art! at Cassiopoia (god knows how u spell it) but its a HUGE club in Berlin- think I mentioned it before?? but yh pics from their yard.

Its all about the happy pants-

Day 2- Berlin

So yesterday I had company in the form of Hannah- basically someone to down free alcohol and bitch with- GREAT! So we started off with Anja Gockel show, which was TERRIBLE, apparently she's from London??? We soon came to the conclusion shes shows in Berlin coz she cant get a slot in London, but yeah basically any 1st year fashion student could have made this collection, I really dont think it was necessary for so many looks when they were all so similar and boring- and the choice of fabrics was shocking! Everything and I mean EVERYTHING had some kind of shine which gave the collection a nice 90's Tammy girl feel- sexual!

Makes me wana get my knee length snake skin boots and scrunchies out again and run down the local youth club.

Ewwwwwwww green shine-

One top that I did think was alrite- nothing we havent seen before tho

Hmmmmm how should we make a real statement for the end of the show- OHHH I know just make a long floaty dress with an unnecessary amount of material- that'll fool em!

So after that we sat in the outdoor lounge bit and drank lots of free beer and chained smoked in the sun- i LOVE Berlin, when we had the pleasure of meeting a lovely young man, who turned me n Hannah in to lezza's- http://thelovemagazine.blogspot.com/- Oh dear whats my Mammy gona say!

Then we shuttled it over to the Frida Weyer show, which was real nice- it was set in a cafe bar so us non-vips did have to stand, but the show was opened by a really cool trapeze artists who made me realise I need to do some exercise quick time! Then the show started to a slightly dodgy soundtrack- but the collection was rather lovely, very feminine with quite a neutral palette and some interesting embellishment-

Its not really my own personal style but it was so good to see a collection without offensively shiny fabrics-

this is the PERFECT outfit for a wedding-

I really liked the beading on this skirt-

After that we went and ate a fat Pizza to soak up the many glasses of wine we had drank at this point then moseyed on down to the Wunderkind preview in their beautiful shop-

There was a HUGE table that ran through the middle of the shop with little snippets from their design process- sketchbook pages, material samples, toile pics- all very interesting!

The style of clothes isnt what I would wear but I can definitely appreciate the intricacy and well thought of features of the clothes- and I LOVE their use of fabrics and textures, i especially liked the one below- check out the sequin leggings in the right corner- mmmmmmmm!!

They displayed some of the toiles alongside the finished garments-

So after the Wunderkind party, more free alcohol and the RIDICULOUS humidity over here it was time for a disco nap! Then up at 10 out at 12 and straight to Watergate club for the Supreme Being (and a few other brands/company's which I forgot???) 10th anniversary party- which was UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! OH my god I cant even describe how sick it was!! It had 2 floors and an outside deck on the river, one floor was some shite house music thing then upstairs was a bit more funky and then dubby- then Skream played and oh ma god- he KILLED it, it was prob the best set Ive ever heard him play- it was sooooooo sick, started with alot of new dubstep, with some classics in there (can I call them classics when they're prob only a few yrs old???) then some of his famous remix's- ie, In for the Kill, then OH MY GOD he played the most amazing dubstep versions of some proper classic old school garage tunes- ie. Be sincere, Its the way and some nice versions of some D&B tunes- basically he tore the place up, there were bare German people there who didnt have a CLUE what was goin on- blatantly thought they were at a techno night, but it didnt take them long to get shackin!!! people were goin CRAZY- mostly me and Hannah I must admit- I cant even remember the last time I danced so hard, most of all when he played BBK, 2 many men, I actually had to sit down after that coz I couldnt breathe from sheer excitement! I can also honestly say I have NEVER sweated so much in my life, I mean my clothes were wet through, my hair was drenched my make up just melted away but god it was worth it! We also had a lil boogie to some nice old skool D&B and Jungle- I cant remember who the DJ was, but MC Inja was hosting and he did a very good job!
Unfortunately/fortunately your not allowed to take pics in there- if your caught you get kicked out, which I thinks a good idea, Ive had enough of randoms asking to take my pic this week, so nothing to show you- which is probably just aswell, me n Han walking home at 6am stuffing our face with Chinese was not a good look!

Berlin fashion week kicks off

So today I had a bit of a full on fashion day- I went to the Mac et Mel show (pics and info at the end) then I went to Premium - a big fashion trade show, I say big I mean HUGE!!! then I went to Bread and Butter, which is where I shall begin......................

So basically Bread and Butter is the biggest trade show in the world (I think??) but oh ma god its HUGEEEE!!!!!! it was originally started in Berlin but has been based in Barcelona for the last few years but came home to Berlin this year and they nailed it man! It was amazing- its was held in an old airport, Templehof airport- so it was all inside the airport hangers, its basically an 'urban/streetwear' trade show but it covers all casual brands- unfortunatly they are tight on taking pics as all the stuff on show is for Autumn/Winter 2009/10 so its all hush hush and hard to get in as I realised today but I managed to blag it!

The most exciting thing was all the new Kicks I seen- oh my god Reebok have some good ones coming your way- I wasnt allowed in the Adidas or Nike stands as you have to pre-book- all so hush hush! But yeah I know Im not being very informative but whenever I got my camera out they were on it so I gave up!

The Reebok pumps were part of a lil exhibition they had about 20 years of Pumps, the pics are the first 2 ever made! Niceeeee!

The hnagers all looked out on to the runway- where they had this lil msg all along it.

They had a conveyor belt with all the press packs on there-

Ok so now the Lac et mel by Gregor Clemens show-

So I arrived about half an hour before the show and was hanging out in the reception downing the free mineral water and a lil bit of wine (the humidity here is far 2 much for me) looking around at all the really badly dressed women and noticing I was the only person in Kicks (the Pumas) and the press kept going crazy over all these random German celebs- who I didnt have a clue who they were, wherever I stood I seemed to be in the way aswell which I wasnt happy about, then I went into the show (which started about 45 min late) and was happy to see I was in the second row- gota love the blagging man! All the girls getting their pics taken were a few rows behind me- oh fashion show politics! Got my goodie bag, then realised after all the drinks I had to go toilet like 5 min b4 the show as about to start so I legged it like 4 flights downstairs and came back up and they were waiting for me to come back to start! It was jokes man, had to walk down the runway with like 200 ppl staring at me- glad I cant understand German coz they were pissed THENNNNNN the show started and it was TERRIBLE!! I was more interested in bbm my mate but had 2 take some pics- so I picked the better outfits to show you!
At one point this girl stacked it Naomi Campbell, Vivienne Westwood style, which I wish I'd caught on camera but I was to busy pissing myself laughing!! Oh and at the start the music fucked up and they had to restart it- it then skipped for the first 2 min and to make it worse the soundtrack was Sam Sparrow Black & Gold- arnt we over that song??? So basically overall a VERY VERY unprofessional show with designs that look like they'd been nicked from Florence and Fred at Tesco- Abismissmal basically but very entertaining at the same time!

No wonder she stakcked it in these unbelievably inappropriate ho shoes!

The final line ups- EUGH!

So guys dont give up on me I have 6 more shows to come and a few fashion party/showcase things so hopefully all is gona get better!

OH n apologies for all the spelling mistakes- I cant spell for toffee n ma spell checker aint working!

AHHHHHH i do LOVE them!! they aint gona stay that freash for long!

I went to Alexander Plaza today which is like the shopping centre complex thing in Berlin, and i stumbled upon this lil Michael Jackson shrine- which sadly actually nearly brought me to tears- yeah to some of you that sounds ridiculous! First off we have Nur Tut (Proskauer Str.38, 10247) a small but well stocked womenswear shop with real friendly staff and some really good streetwear garms!- oh n i loved the way they had the clothes displayed!

Next up we have Yard 5 (Samariterstr 5, 10247) which is mostly a graff store selling every colour and brand of spray paint but it had some good trainers in there aswell and some nice tee's that they screen print in the back off the shop- they guys here all look like Hispanic gangsters from LA but are so nice and friendly, well worth a neeb!

Seen this wicked building on my travels today- I wana live here please!

Right someone please inform me what these tubes are for man- they look like their from the Visa advert u know that shit one where he's on a big slide??? but yeah random!

This was another trainer shop that was run by hispanic lookin gangster who were well safe- but OMG it has the biggest collection of t-shirts I have ever seen- any men who go to Berlin need to go here and get some tee's!!
its called Skid Row (Kopernikusstr 18, 10245)

This place is called Big Robot (Kopernikusstr 19, 10245)
Its a bit of a skate shop kinda place but with an AMAZING selection of books and magazines and well good cuddly toys!

This place is called Latte wie hose (Kopernikusstr 13, 10245) it solda really good mix of girly clothes- going out, jeans, shoes, trainers etc- and again well friendly staff- some wicked labels like Gortez and True tee- which are my new favourite ppl- check them out!

Sunset Star (Kopernikusstr 11, 10245) had so many quite rockabilly style clothes, and some well good shoeeeeeeees!!

Rocs Skateshop is full of good skater shit- boards, trainers, clothes, records!

Fumanchuch (Kopernikusstr 9, 10245) is a good girly shoe shop with a good interior that showcases local artists work every month!
